Character History: Taichi's story begins four years before his first adventure in the Digital World, when he and his sister Hikari had their first encounter with a Digimon. A Digi-Egg appeared in their family's apartment, and subsequently hatched into a Botamon that later evolved into a Koromon. The digimon then evolved into an Agumon, and escaped into the city with Hikari. Taichi followed them, and ended up bearing witness to the appearance of Parrotmon. The Agumon evolved into Greymon, and attacked the Parrotmon. The two then disappeared, returning to the Digital World. Taichi and Hikari's memories of the event were suppressed, and the battle was covered up as a terrorist bombing. However, the battle marked him, his sister, and several other children as the next generation of Chosen Children.
Four years later, in the summer of 1999, Taichi found himself pulled into the Digital World with his friends. There, he met his partner, Koromon, for the first time. He would later evolve into Agumon to protect Taichi, and then again into Greymon for the same reason. Taichi would later become the de facto leader of the group, although when it came time to face the evil digimon Devimon, it would be his younger friend Takeru who defeated him.
Later, on the continent of Server, the group would begin their search for the crests that they would bear. Taichi would discover his, the Crest of Courage. Taichi wanted to use the crest to evolve Agumon to his next stage, and in one of those attempts, ended up accidentally evolving Greymon into its dark evolution, SkullGreymon. It would take a bit of self discovery and the kidnapping of his friend, Sora, to learn the true nature of courage and for Taichi to successfully evolve Agumon into MetalGreymon. Together, they defeated their latest enemy, Etemon. However, this tore a hole between worlds, and Taichi found himself back home with his sister. However, after defeating strange digimon that appeared in the real world, they managed to open a portal back using Taichi's digivice.
Once there, Taichi found that much more time had elapsed, and that he and his friends had split up. He began to reunite with them one by one, and finally ended it when they re-encountered Sora. Their next enemy, Vamdemon appeared, and Sora drove him off after overcoming her doubts about her crest and evolving her partner Piyomon to Garudamon. Their battle with Vamdemon was just beginning, though, and they had to follow him to the real world, where he sought to find and destroy the eighth Chosen Child. Eventually, it was discovered that the eighth child was Taichi's own sister, Hikari. However, not even evolving Hikari's new partner, Tailmon, into her Perfect form, Angewomon, would completely destroy Vamdemon. Vamdemon rose again, in a new more powerful form named VenomVamdemon. However, they were able to decipher a prophecy, and Taichi and Yamato managed to evolve their partners to the Ultimate level: WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. Together, the Chosen Children defeated him.
The next task awaiting them was back in the Digital World. In their absence, the Digital World had been conquered by the four Dark Masters and reformatted into the monolithic Spiral Mountain. Over the course of this battle, Taichi had to rise up to his position more than ever, which caused a schism between him and Yamato. When it came time to defeat the final Dark Master, Piemon, though, the two reconciled and joined forces once again. With assistance from Takeru's partner, Holy Angemon, they managed to defeat Piemon. It was then, however, that their true enemy appeared: Apocalymon. Only when the Chosen Children realized the true nature of their crests did they manage to defeat him, and save the Digital World. Unfortunately, this marked the end of their adventures, and they had to return to the real world without Agumon and the others.
Sometime later, a digimon known as Keramon appeared on the internet. Taichi, Koushirou, Takeru, and Yamato made contact with their digimon and worked to stop it, but the digimon overpowered them by continuously evolving, finally reaching its Ultimate stage of Diablomon. Diablomon would prove to be a match for WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, and eventually tried to drop a bomb on their neighborhood. Diablomon then began to multiply, tipping the odds in his favor significantly. However, when all hope seemed lost, Taichi and Yamato's concern for their partners, as well as the well wishes of hundreds of children everywhere, granted WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon the ability to evolve into Omegamon. Then, with one final assistance from Koushirou, they defeated Diablomon... for a time.
During the year 2000, Taichi and the other Chosen Children were called back to the Digital World, and were forced to give up their crest powers to form a shield against an evil threatening the Digital World.
Four years after Apocalymon's defeat, a new group of Chosen Children were summoned to the Digital World. Taichi met Daisuke, and bonded with him over their similar traits and mutual love of soccer, and after rationalizing that Daisuke was the new group's leader, passed his signature goggles onto his young friend. Later, however, Taichi would find that Agumon had been captured by their new enemy, the Digimon Kaiser, and taken control of with the Kaiser's Dark Rings. Daisuke would manage to be the person who ultimately saved Agumon, using the power of one his partner, V-mon's, armor evolutions: Raidramon. Later, the Kaiser would be revealed as a young man named Ichijouji Ken, and after redeeming himself, he turned his back on his evil ways and joined the Chosen Children.
Taichi would play a support role from then on. However, he and his fellow Chosen Children would find their power to evolve to Ultimate returned to them when they were given access to the energy of Qinglongmon, one of the Digital World's four protectors. Though they would later have to give that power up, they received more power from Qinglongmon, and used it to battle WarGreymon's opposite number, BlackWarGreymon, and convince him that he didn't need to fight to gain his purpose. Agumon would be saddened when BlackWarGreymon gave his life to finally seal the barrier between two worlds.
Prior to this, Taichi discovered that his friend Sora, who he had feelings for, was actually attracted to Yamato. When he talked to her about this, he gave her his approval, prompting Agumon to state that Taichi had really grown up.
Their battle wasn't over, however. Their latest enemy, Oikawa, was revealed to have the essence of Vamdemon trapped inside him. The original Chosen Children arrived to support their successors in the final battle, and in the aftermath, Oikawa was freed and redeemed, and Vamdemon finally destroyed. Oikawa's final wish healed and restored the balance between the two worlds, and Taichi found his crest power returned to him.
Later, Diablomon would resurface, giving the Chosen Children one of their greatest tests yet. Omegamon appeared again, defeating Diablomon... only for him to activate a back up plan, where millions of his Kuramon “offspring” merged into a massive beast called Armagemon. Omegamon was no match for Armagemon, but was able to transfer his energy to Daisuke and Ken's partner, Imperialdramon. Omegamon became a massive sword, which transformed Imperialdramon into his Paladin Mode. With this, Armagemon was defeated.
Taichi settled down for a while, and while maintaining a strong relationship with all of his friends, managed to live more or less like a normal teenager. However, after turning sixteen, he found himself pulled into a new Digital World.
Taichi's Personality: Taichi is brave, courageous, and more than a little headstrong. Though he's matured significantly over the years, he still has instances of “hot bloodedness” befitting a Digimon lead protagonist. Nevertheless, he's a natural leader, respectful to his friends, and an excellent mentor to the other Chosen Children. He cares a lot about his sister, his best friend Yamato, Sora, and all of his other comrades.
Agumon's Personality: Agumon is Taichi's partner, and mirrors Taichi in many respects. While somewhat mature, he's also childish in some respects. He's definitely one of the most courageous digimon, and believes in doing the right thing. However, like most of the Chosen Children, he'd rather not fight. This doesn't mean he'd hesitate to stop a threat to either world, though.
Agumon's Abilities: Agumon is rather straightforward as far as digimon go. His main special attack is Baby Flame, in which he releases a fireball from his mouth. He can also attack with his claws in an attack called Sharp Claws. He has the ability to perform other attacks... but he either doesn't know of them or hasn't tried.
